Hong Kong Airlines customer assistance when flight was canceled

During the protests at Hong Kong airport, my flight from Bangkok got cancelled. The airline was unreachable by phone and no one at the airport was any help. I was told there could be a standby flight and to show up at 3 am but this did not work out as there were so many people waiting. Everyone kept passing the buck and no one tried to help to get another flight or accommodation or food while I was delayed. When my family at home did get through to the airline after waiting on hold for over an hour, they were told to go to the airport and talk to staff. I was on route to Canada. Extremely frustrating.

It is useless talk without the attached documents such as e-tickte / PNR / notice of the cacellation/ your own complaint towards air carrier.
