So, my car which I purchased used has an AC Delco battery that according to code was manufactured 18 months ago and installed exactly one year ago to the day as written on it. It is dead. I contacted AC Delco to find a warranty dealer to have the battery replaced. AC Delco told me the battery cannot be warrantied since I do not have the original receipt. Why have a warranty if you do not intend to stand behind the product. Delco batteries are expensive in comparison to other brands that stand behind their products better. Very disappointed by AC Delco. I think it says a lot about what they stand for. Greed and profit. Clearly customer satisfaction means nothing. Do not by AC Delco products.

Yeah, that’s the classic “warranty is only as good as the receipt you lost” trap. 18-month-old battery, dead at one year of actual use — that’s not normal, that’s a defective product. And they hide behind a piece of paper instead of owning it. You’re right, ACDelco charges premium prices for what looks like bottom-tier lifespan now. I’d be done with them too. Next time grab an Interstate or even a Costco Kirkland — no receipt? They look it up by membership. No hassle. Sorry you learned this one the expensive way. Jump it, replace it, and never look back.
