Bad service

I contacted Westco about one week ago in person and told them that the digital screen of my radio/cd player faded. They told me its happened with this specific radio a lot. My car is under warranty and I was told I can get a replacement but it is the same company. I asked if I can purchase another company but was told they wont replace it then.
However, to get it all done by a different company it cost a lot of money. So I decided to call them today to book an appointment. However, I was told today that they need to have a look and order it then. I live 4 hours away from Cairns. I find it extremly upsetting they expect me to come all the way over to have someone to look at it for 5 min and confirm that the screen is completely faded. I then need to drive 4 hours back home to come back another day to get it all replaced.
To top it up my warranty runs out but I guess they dont care.
