Highlight service and rude service
I recently got my hair done on 9-3-2023 at the North Star Location. I used a stylist that was recommended to me when booking the appointment as my usual person was not going to be there. I showed her a photo of sofia richies hair and advised i wanted a champagne blonde color with brown lowlights ( which I already had a lot of brown to work with) The...

Hair color/style
I've been a regular client for over 10years and this was the flat out worst experience I've ever had and will not pay another dollar or TRUST this company to touch my hair anymore. I requested for the first time to get hair color done, knowing how many people look great when they get it done but luckily, my experience wasn't like that. I came in and...

I asked availability for a haircut and I specifically told the receptionist I wanted a 0 and 1 on top. My haircut was nothing what I wanted it looked horrible I asked to speak with the manager Jeremy from the visible changes in the galleria in Houston texas. I told him what I wanted is not what I received he them spoke to the receptionist and basically flat out called me a liar. I do not appreciate being called out like that I told him I did not want to argue and I would pay for my haircut and leave
Desired outcome: Speak to the manager and let him know the right way to treat a paying client. He needs education in manners
Blow dry charge
I had my hair color done professionally for just the second time in my life - this was my first time at VC. After my shampoo I was asked if I wanted someone to blow dry my hair and I said yes - how else do you know what the color looks like? It took about 15 minutes for the blow dry. When I went to pay I asked for an itemized receipt - they charged me $50 for the blow dry! I said that was completely ridiculous! No one told me there would be a charge, let alone $50! I was told that only an “art director†person was available to do the blow dry and her charge is $50. I said that I didn’t request an art director and no one told me it would be $50! The manager said she’d give me $10 back and I said that was no acceptable. She said they provided a service and there is a charge for everything. I said that they need to tell people - what a scam! She said the lowest level for just a blow dry is $35. So I said I wanted $15 back - she argued with me more then finally gave me a $15 credit. That is completely ridiculous! I paid $215 for the color, another $25 for some conditioner they didn’t tell me they were charging me for either. I will NEVER get color there again! Totally not worth it.
Desired outcome: Full $50 refund

I made an appointment last year and the personnel said that i coukd get the highlights I wanted but upon arrival at the store the manager said that she had to bleach all my hair to be able to get the highlights that i wanted. I agreed only because I didnt know any better thab what this manager was talking about. She short overweight and looks asian. I hope i have described her so that you are able to talk to her since she told my hairstylist that that was the only option for the highlights i wanted. I ended up looking like a dirty blond with highlights. My picture instruction where that i wanted my black roots but platinum highlights.

I made an appointment with jose at 5015 westheimer ste 11. Jose came up to the front of the store and he said he could do the highlights. I specifically asked for the highlights in the picture with black roots and thick platinum highlights. So I this time Jose said that he could do them and I said ok i will pay only because you say you can do them if not i would of asked ask another hairstylist to do it. Attached is the picture 1 month and a half later after the black roots havegrown. I literally have grey hair with little highlights. The foils and selected hair where to many and they included small pieces of hair instead of less foils and thicker chuncks of hair selected to bleach and add color to it.

The lady at the register couldnt schedule me to get the highlights redone. Again i wanted to talk to somebody about the highlights thick black rooted highlights. Sge said everybody if BUSY nobody can assist you since they are with clients. FINe the point is she forgot to give me my 20 dollars. I had paid Amir 30 in tip and I needed 20 back to replace that money in my wallet. So she said well dont include it in your tip section on the receipt i will just added to the total of haircut texturizer of 70.57. Grand total 90.57. So i left because she couldnt give me my change and when i came back the manager wanted to have the register counted shirt overweight asian looking lady. She thought i was lying and I was like i hope you dont think that i want to jack your 20 dollars well there i was waiting on her to count the register. She is just so rude with her face.
Desired outcome: I just want my hair with black roots and thick highlights all this extra stuff they got going on is really disturbing to the customers that have to pull through all that miscellanous ideas.
New payment policy
On March 9, 2022, when I went to pay for services, I saw a sign informing customers of an additional charge added to credit card users, so I decided to write a check. I was then informed that checks are no longer accepted, and the options for customers are credit cards or cash.
The mall I go to is no longer a “safe†area. Considering the services I receive are normally $200+, I don’t feel comfortable carrying cash.
By eliminating checks as a valid means of payment, customers have are forced to pay an additional fee or carry cash in an area that is not safe placing them at potential risk.
Desired outcome: Allow checks as a payment option.
Horrific bleach process for $319
On February 22, 2022 : 4pm-7pm, I went to get my hair bleached & this was the result. I understand that I had underlying colors from over 2 years ago on the lower parts of my hair, but this is unacceptable for $319. If the top part of my hair was natural right on my scalp which processes faster than any other piece, the lady should’ve known to do that...

I went to get my daughters haircut at visible changes, after a bit they told me they were taking her to wash her hair. After about 40 minutes I went to go check and found her hair still wet and her on the verge of tears with nobody paying attention. They left her there with wet hair for 40 minutes. This waste out time and when we we came back home she got a fever.
Desired outcome: She should’ve been payed attention to.

Signed up for their garbage service. Bought a new cell phone from them. 15 days after no service lousy lousy lousy data I complain. They told me I was going to get a refund on my phone. On the 16th of June, 2021, I went to Visible Changes the woodlands location for a very simple blow dry and styling by one of their hairdressers. I booked an appointment for deep conditioning and blow dry today. I got late by 20 mins for which i called n asked if its okay to go, they said fine n i went.
A guy asked me for my hair wash once i reached location, after my wash another lady Terresa woods took me and did my blow dry. I asked why my deep conditioning is not done, she said she was not informed at all about it! I was shocked, its cold outside like 3, i never blow dry my hair without deep conditioning, Terrasa apologized and said u dont need to pay, at the counter her manager Sylvia came, she yelled at me, asked Terrassa to stop speaking n asked me to pay 50$ for only shampoo n blow dry!
I did not ask for blow dry, when i called for appointment they said 4$ for deep conditioning n 35$ for blow dry, now my hair got rough as they did what they wanted without my consent, i did not get the service i wanted n i was charged n yelled at!
I never said i am not gonna pay, even when Terrasa ( my hair stylist) said i dont need to i said i will however this manager was extremely rude, racist Sylvia, also she yelled at me and made me mad. I was wronged n i was being wrongly charged. I said give me her nAme so that i can lodge a complaint she said no n better pay off n she called security as i said i am not gonna pay for your negligence!
I paid 50$ when with mall security, it was a complete harrasment, i paid for something i did not wish to have, the manager Sylvia denied me my basic rights as a customer of chosing my service, yelled n created mental trauma on me . I am talking to my lawyers, Before any legal proceeding i am writing for voicing my issue.
I have had much more expensive services, i never lose my mind, not a person who would not pay. I want to know why my stylish was not informed of deep conditioning where thats what i cleArly asked for when i booked an appointment?
My hair was damaged n dried by blow drying without conditioning!
Instead of being sorry / asking for apology Sylvia charged me wrongly? Its like being on a restaurant, getting different food than what u ordered and being wrongly charged for it. Unjust and intolerable. Also manager sylvia was racist and asked mall security who said he will issue a ticket if i dont pay 50$. I am not sure if a mall security is entitled to do so!
Desired outcome: 1. Unconditional apology letter from Sylvia 2. Compensation for my harassment and hair damage

The stylist named Laura at visible changes called and asked for my daughters name and when she seen she was a 7 year old girl she quickly said excuse me and went to the front desk to tell the host that she can't cut it because we were 5 mins late ?!! That's after the fact that we called in advance to let someone know we were just a couple mins behind!

Location- Memorial city mall
People involved- Berny (hair stylist), Memorial city mall store manager (name unknown)
My name is Amrutha Kurakula. Myself and my mom went to Memorial city mall, visible changes location for hair relaxer services. During our initial consulting appointment, we were guaranteed we would be left with straight and smooth hair. We got the treatment done on April 23rd but it did not work. (I paid approximately $485 including the tip). We were left with frizzy and wavy hair. The hair stylist promised us they would fix the problem and asked us to come again after 2 weeks. They did not charge us for the 2nd treatment but that did not work as well. We were asked to come again for 3rd treatment. I blindly believed them hoping they would fix our hair. The 3rd time we got the treatment done was on July, 21st, 2018. My mom was going through the hair treatment process and I was waiting for her in the lounge. When I was speaking with the receptionist, the store manager came to me. He did not introduce himself and when I told him that I am there with my mom for hair relaxer service, he said that is not going to work for us. I was surprised to hear that, because if they knew it is not going to work why do they keep promising us and booking us further appointments. He started speaking of menstrual cycles, hormones, health issues and was telling me I should go for hair smoothing services and they usually talk people out of hair straightening services. I was totally shocked to hear this, since that was the exact opposite happening to me. I was convinced by that hair stylist that hair relaxer is going to work for me. I patiently waited for my mom to get done with her hair treatment. I went to see the results and was totally disappointed to see my mom's hair in its worst condition. The hair stylist said that is the best she could do and handed over a bill of $165 to me.
I did not understand why I was handed over a bill since I already paid for the service and these people never delivered me the results and thought they are trying to fix their mistake. I was for the store manager, who then arrived and very rudely told me to pay $165. When I was what I am being charged for since I don't see the results and my mom's hair is completely spoiled. He did not even bother looking at the results. I kept repeating myself that I am out of $500, i do not see even a slight change with our hair, wasted our time and effort and on the top of that I am being charged instead of apologizing to us. I told him to show me the contract we signed before we began the treatment. He immediately shouted at me saying, I am not going to show you any papers, pay the money or I will call the security. All the customer are treated politely but I was yelled and threatened. I knew, it was a racial thing. I told him I will speak to his authorities and he said he would speak to them about me. I was called a liar when I told him that the hair stylist promised me that I would have straight hair. He said that no one made such promises and I am making that up. There were many people in the store and I was embarrassed in front of everyone. I was paid the $165 and left with my head down.
This is not about money. I am not looking for any refund. It is about treatment me with respect. Why do they have to lie to me and call me a liar. I want to be treated as equal. All I wanted from them was a sorry and I would have left without arguing. Instead they insulted me and threatened to call the security. All I need was some empathy. Situations like this may seem small. Small or big, a mistake is a mistake and I hope other people do not have to go through what I went.
I’m so sorry this happened to you and your mom, but I’m not surprised. Visible Changes has been desperate for a few years now and has really gone downhill. Thank you for posting this review.
customer service call
Date of incident - 5-14-16 Telephone call regarding niece's hair apt for prom.
I have been coming to VC since I was 13 years old. I scheduled my nieces hair appointment for prom for this past Saturday, May 14, 2016 and called to give my credit card over the phone due to me working. I was initially going to meet my niece at her appointment and pay for her but due to the fact I had to work that was not possible. I've gone to Veronica (Ronnie) Alonzo who use to be at Northwest Mall but is now at the Galleria since I was about 14 years old. I last seen her in January for a haircut. I called to speak with the front desk to see if they can take my credit card for payment over the phone (I initially was under the impression I could do this from the start) but the person said they will ask their manager and immediately came back to the phone and said no. I then asked to speak to the manager which by then I was upset. I explained why I could not go and would like to pay for my niece's hair style over the phone and he was not friendly. I can understand if he was busy but it was only 10:30 am. I have been in the retail business for over 25 years so I understand good customer service which I did not receive. He said he would have to verify that I was a customer to the store and put me on hold. He then came back and said I have not been there since 2014. I explained to him that I go to the Galleria and asked if I would like him to verify that. He took my number and called me back and said I have not been there since Jan 2016. That is barely 3 months and we all get our haircut every 3 to 4 months and still would not take my cc over the phone. I was very angry and said a cuss word and hung up. I will never do business or give my business to the Visible Changes (Memorial City) ever. It was very embarrassing and my niece had to have a friend curl her hair for prom. I usually don't make complaints but this is how upset I am. If you have people that work for you - they should go above and beyond for their customer. It would of probably been a $40.00 service because she was only getting a few curls in her hair (not an updo). Thank you for your time.

rude, unprofessional employees and management
I have been a client of Visible Changes for 8 years and after a recent move, decided to try out Visible Changes in The Woodlands Mall. I have NEVER felt so taken advantage of, embarrassed, and completely at a loss for words regarding their horrible service, aggressive sales tactics, awful management, and lack of professionalism. My appointment started off bad enough... they called me back, washed my hair and then happened to notice that they checked the wrong person in and that I wasn't supposed to have my hair washed due to my appointment being for highlights. Because of the mishap, I had to sit under a dryer and then wait for someone to come dry my hair. No big deal at that point - I assumed it was just an honest mistake. I finally meet my colorist and she did a fantastic job even though she was extremely pushy with trying to upsell products - constantly telling me she was going to put me on a strict hair care system involving many different overpriced products and actually even gathering them and putting them at the cash register when it was time for me to check out - telling the receptionist I was purchasing them after I told her I didn't need them! My biggest issue with her is that she did a treatment on my hair WITHOUT informing me that there was an additional charge of $20 for it. Secondly, I was supposed to get a cut afterwards but because of their mix up, they said they only had the highest level available and I was not about to spend $50+ on just a trim -I ended up getting just a $5 bang trim. So, after my trim, the stylist informs me that there is a $24 charge to BLOW DRY my hair! WHAT?! I ended up walking up to the counter with wet hair and was met with a rude voice exclaiming that my bill was $146! No way, no how, NO! I did NOT get $146 worth of highlights and bang trims! Like I said, the colorist put a $20 treatment in my hair which the manager did refund with as little professionalism as possible. I still don't understand why my bill was over $126 when highlights were $70 and a bang trim was $5. And why in the world would they feel that I owe them $146 when they wouldn't even DRY MY HAIR?! After the girl at the front desk literally THREW my credit card at my husband when he asked for it back, I asked to speak with the manager, Bonnie, and I told her that I wanted a refund for the treatment I wasn't even aware of and all the unexplained extras. She was incredibly rude and never told me what the additional costs were BUT she did tell me that if she gave me a refund that I could NEVER come back to Visible Changes! I informed Bonnie that I would be writing a letter to her corporate office so they are aware of how their staff forces products and treatments on people, expecting them to pay and how poorly management runs the salon. I didn't gripe about the initial mix up, I didn't gripe about my wet hair, I didn't gripe about anything until I received the unexplained bill and was treated so horribly. It was extremely embarrassing and I will NEVER visit a Visible Changes again - I never received the refund I was entitled to and believe me, I'll make sure my family and friends are aware of their deceiving tricks to stick people with their overpriced garbage hair products and rude, unprofessional employees and management.

I recently went to visible changes at the willowbrook mall and I will never go again! The front desk is so rude! I was a walk in and when I asked the young lady named Ashley at the front desk how long was the wait she looked at me and said "well it's Saturday and we are busy so like 2 hours." Which ok it's fair I'll wait. She did not take my information she just told me be back in 2 hours. I came back to check in with Jennifer and she couldn't find me in the system, so then I pointed at the other receptionist who had made my apointment and with an attitude she responded "you didn't tell me you wanted the apointment." So then they give me my options and is to come back the next day or wait another 2 hours ! At that point I was fed up. But I toke it anyway, in a desperate need of a haircut. When I made my apt with Ashley I specifically told her that I wanted a mid level. At check out they tell me my total is 85 dollars! They had put me with the highest level ! Ashley is very unprofessional and for that reason I will not be returning back
I went to visible changes in memorial city mall to get my hair dyed and cut. The color stylist put all this merchandise on the counter I wasn't aware of when it came time to pay the bill was 200.00 I paid and left. I really liked the cut the color was not exactly what I wanted it was suppose to be red it was more wine with slightly orange but ok every time I wash it the color washes out like a cheap box dye. I called the manage Michael was rude unprofessional wouldn't listen arguing with me cutting me off I was just explaining than I said pls listen or I'll call corporate in a attitude he said you obviously want free color come back and will color again he'll no I would never go back free or not it was a horrible experience dealing with Michael I'm done!
I have been going to Visible Changes for over 9 years now, and I will not be back. My friend and I went to the Visible Changes at Baybrook we had paid over 300.00 for Highlights and haircuts. We were treated rudely had dye running down my face, pushed on to other stylist worst experience I have ever had. Called the corporate office 5 Xs to talk to District Manager Terry-not even till this day have had a call back from him.
From the beginning I stressed I wanted a plum color, at first I couldn't find the picture but Julianna told Mayolo she knew what she was going to do.
And before she put the color I showed her a picture of the way I wanted the color. She left me at the sink and told me my stylist would wash off the color. After 20 min, Teresa the stylist came and introduced herself and
Said., uuu you have the color still on you? I guess I'll wash it off. And she did. Then I walked to her station and She saw what haircut I wanted.
So, I told Teresa how the color was not the color plum I asked for. She also said, wow you have hair color all over your ears, neck, and side temples, she kept rubbing some liquid. Then, I loved my haircut with Teresa, she
did a good job.
However as I drove home I saw this on my face, ears, temples. Just ridiculous!
I've had my haircut and styled at Visible Changes for over 25 years. Over the past five years it has become unbearable to get my hair done there. During this bad economy, I have been forced to address cutting back on what i was spending there. So, i started to look at how much they were charging me for services. I cut out the $20 in hot tools and purchasing of producys. I never realized i paid extra for hot tools and no one even asked me if i wNted to purchace that service. When I asked visible changes how much they would charge for their best stylist to wash, cut, blow dry and style my hair, they refused to give me a set price. Their response is $85 and up. Since I have been burned there several times with the hot tools charge, I have learned to ask for specific services. When I book an appointment I am clear about the things I want done to my hair. Lately I have had to snap at the stylist and say please no hot tools. I cannot afford the charge. She doesn't even ask. One day I noticed that I was being sold different hair products every every single visit. My stylist would actually put the products on the counter without me even asking her to. It became so uncomfortable that I just put the products back on the shelf myself, after she walked away. I began to feel as though I was being shamed into buying things I didn't need or want.
The less I bought, the less work my stylist performed on my hair. My hair looked awful after the last couple of visits.. I mean really do I have to spend $170 every time I get my haircut? I couldn't even get them to blow dry my hair after they cut and wet it on my last visit. They said blow drying my hair after the cut would be considered using hot tools on my hair. They still charged me $75. They wet my hair and cut it. The stylist said that because they had not shampooed my hair there was no reason to put a blow dryer to it.
Today I visited a new salon. The professional beautician charged me $75. She sat with me for a hair consultation, massaged my shoulders, washed, conditioned, styled, blow dried and used a flat iron in my hair. Although, she had Hair products for sale, she did not try to force them on me. She even gave me some great tips for a healing my dry scalp. The greatest thing that happened however was that she gave me a beautiful hairdo. Something new and innovative that I have not seen at Visible Changes for many many many years. All for $70. Thank you Heather Salon Vanity At Champions. Stay Golden
the overbooking and selling products greatly reduced the quality service by the hair hair cutters/stylists @visible changes over the past
few years (have went to this salon franchise for many years). Cannot trust to get anyone to focus on my hair too busy selling quotas
of products and running through as many customers as possible. The service has dropped in quality big time. Will not patronized this
establishment longer than I have to (looking for a smaller shop) however, will continue to buy their products when I go shopping.
terrible company
In an attempt to make an appointment with my colorer, whom I see every four weeks, I was put on hold and left there by a female employee at the front desk. Finally, a male employee came on who gave me a 12:40 color appointment with a 2:10 style appointment. When I pointed out to him that I would be left sitting with a wet head for over 30 minutes, he proceeded to tell me how color works. I have been having my hair colored at Visible Changes for some 40 years and certainly did not need this information. What I wanted and needed were back-to-back appointments, something he obviously doesn't understand. To say that I am upset is to put it mildly.
