To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this formal complaint regarding my experience with Guard Disability and its representatives in connection with my Social Security Disability case following my organ transplant. I retained Guard Disability during a period of extreme medical vulnerability, immediately after my transplant, when I was physically ill, under severe stress, and in urgent need of competent legal representation. Despite this, I received no meaningful legal assistance throughout the entire process. Specifically: Guard Disability did not take effective action on my Social Security Disability case. My assigned case representative, Christina, was unable to provide assistance or progress my case in any substantive way, despite repeated attempts on my part to obtain help. I ultimately had to advocate for myself by personally contacting my U.S. Senators, my Congressman, and the Social Security Administration, including spending weeks on hold and navigating the system alone while recovering from major surgery. My case took approximately 18 months, during which I received no measurable benefit from Guard Disability’s involvement. Despite this lack of service, Guard Disability collected fees, even though the outcome was achieved through my own efforts rather than theirs. As a medically fragile patient, this experience caused significant emotional distress, financial strain, and unnecessary hardship at a time when I should have been focused on healing. I trusted this firm based on their affiliation with healthcare environments and referrals connected to care teams, which makes this experience especially troubling. I am also deeply concerned about Guard Disability being recommended or promoted within hospital or healthcare settings, as vulnerable patients may reasonably assume a higher standard of ethics, competence, and patient-centered advocacy than what I experienced. I am requesting that this complaint be reviewed for: Failure to provide adequate representation, Improper or unearned fee collection, Ethical concerns related to marketing or referrals to severely ill patients, Lack of accountability to medically vulnerable clients. I am prepared to provide documentation, call records, correspondence, and timelines supporting these claims if needed. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Christy Priebe
