I got denied service and medication because of $140 that I don't have to pay. I had a procedure done and always paid a $40 co-pay. The procedure was approved by insurance and they didn't mention anything about owing more than my co-pay during the visit. Weeks later, I received a bill saying I owe $190 out of nowhere. Collections called me and said I owe them for services that insurance wouldn't cover. I had no idea that insurance didn't pay, so I paid $50 out of kindness, but still had $140 left. I called my insurance and they told me to have collections send the bill again. Collections didn't do it, so now I can't make an appointment or get my medication because of this problem. Thank goodness it's not life-threatening because I would be dead without knowing about it beforehand. Times have really changed, money is more important than people's well-being. Ten years ago, hospitals cared about their patients, but not anymore... it's all about greed, not what people actually need.
