Yesterday, I contacted Amy's Home Services to clean mineral deposits out of the Koehler faucets in my master bathroom. Brad, one of their plumbers, had come on an emergency basis sometime back when I had no hot water and was very friendly and fixed the problem. I received a brochure and $50 gift card from John, their owner, so I decided to use the gift card to pay to have the faucets in my master bath. When Brad had been here to fix the hot water issue, he told me a special tool was needed to remove the screen in the faucet to clean out the mineral deposits. I told him I would try to get it from another contractor. I was unable to get the name of the tool and where to order it from the contractor who had installed the original Koehler faucets, so I told the receptionist at Amy's that Brad should be made aware that I was unable to secure the tool. She said she would add it to the notes. Instead of Brad having the courtesy to read the notes and see that the receptionist had indicated I did not have the tool and call to tell me he couldn't do the work without my obtaining the tool and save me the $79 service fee just to show up, he simply showed up here (early which was inconvenient for me and asked me where the tool was. I informed him that I had told the receptionist I didn't have the tool and she added it to his notes. He got huffy and told me he could not clean the faucets without the tool and told me the receptionist merely answered the phone and knew nothing about plulmbing. I called the receptionist and complained that I shouldn't have to pay $79 if he couldn't do the work. She informed me that they then would not do any work for me in the future. I told her that I would pay the $79 since that was their policy just for the plumber to walk in the door, but I wasn't happy about it. Brad then informed me that he located the tool on the Internet, could order it and have it shipped and the cost to order the tool and clean the two faucets would be $320.00 plus another $79 service fee. I told him that was an outrageous fee just to clean out mineral deposits. He shrugged, not really caring one way or another and took my check for $79 and left. This is poor customer service and shows a lack of concern for the customer. I would never use Amy's again.

Do not call this company unless you like being excessively overcharged . You will be very upset if you do busness w/ them. It cost me $322.00 for a 15 minute job (installing a cut-off valve under my kitchen sink.) I had no idea how long or iinvolved a job it was until I sat there and watched him - no time at all and he was finished. This seems to be the biggest complaint -I wondered if I had hired plumbers with master degree from college. I have complained with the Better Business Bureau and the response from Amy's is to refund the service call which is $79.00. They refused to tell how much they charge an hour and what they charge for the part. BEWARE!
