AdventHealth.com Should be a learning lesson

Went 9/21/2025 for rectal bleeding after just starting colonoscopy prep. Everyone was nice and made sure I was treated "well". However, Dr. Kenney told me my gastro DR was on call for me to call him. I called from the room and DR. Reedy suggested I get a cat scan of my abdomen. I relayed the message. I guess they didn't like that even though I have...

I already paid off half the bill, but I feel I shouldn't pay the rest because of the lack of good services I received. The doctor had terrible bedside manner, acted as though he didn't believe me, and treated me with medications that didn't work. I feel it's unfair for me to pay off the remainder of my bill when my problem wasn't resolved. I feel what I...

AdventHealth.com Random firing of Dr Hankinson

I had an appointment to see Dr Hankinson in August and bought plane tickets to do so. He was randomly fired yesterday. This is the best Ob/Gyn I have ever met. He diagnosed with cancer and has been there for me through out this process. The care and compassion he shows his patients is heart felt. He actually cares for you not the money that corporate Medicine is after. Shame on you for not recognizing what an asset Dr. Hankinson is. I am done with Advent and hope Dr Hankinson finds someone who appreciates him

AdventHealth.com Efficient and comfortable imaging experience

I recently visited Advent Health Imaging Center Waterford Lakes for an MRI, and the experience was surprisingly smooth. From the moment I walked in, the staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring I understood the process. The waiting area was clean and comfortable, which helped ease my nerves. The technician who performed the MRI was professional and explained each step, which made the procedure less intimidating. The results were delivered promptly, and my doctor was pleased with the image quality. Overall, it was a positive experience that I would recommend to others.

AdventHealth.com I got this letter from some credit agency saying I owe $88 to AdventHealth Carrollwood

I got this letter from some credit agency saying I owe $88 to AdventHealth Carrollwood. The bill has these dates for clinic service: 1/2, 1/8, 1/15, and 1/22. I didn't get any other bill from them in 2019 or 2020. I called the billing office on 7/20 and asked them to bill my secondary insurance for the remaining balance. They said it's too late. I asked why they didn't bill them when they had the info, but they didn't have an answer.

I went to the Brandon ER on May 28 because I had really bad pain in my lower right abdomen, and I was throwing up and had a fever and chills. The first thing I asked was if they take my insurance and if it would cover everything. The guy at the front desk said yes. They did an ultrasound and a CT scan on me. When I got the bill from the ER, it was $18K, but my insurance only paid $11K, so I had to pay $6,300 plus the bill for the person who read the scan. They charged me a crazy amount, $11,753.27, just for the CT scan. I looked at their website and it said the most they can charge is $6K. I also used their price estimator and put in my insurance info, and it said the most I should have to pay is $1,200. I'm young and I don't know how much things cost, so they really took advantage of me. They knew I have a high deductible plan, so they charged me way too much. They should have been honest and given me more information. It's not right how they charged me. I did some research and talked to doctors, lawyers, and regular people, and nobody has ever heard of a CT scan costing $12K.

AdventHealth.com Me and my wife were never told about the costs before they did the tests and stuff

Me and my wife were never told about the costs before they did the tests and stuff. On August 7, my wife, *** was told by her doctor Daniel J. MD to go to the ER because she had bad pains on her right side. She had been feeling uncomfortable in that area for a week or two. On August 5, when the pain got worse, she called TeleDoc and the doctor she talked to, Daniel Kessler, said she might have shingles and a rash could come in a few days. The pain got even worse overnight, so we went to Advent Health Emergency Room. We got there on August 7th and checked in at 8:06 AM. I told the person at the front desk that I was in charge of the insurance and my wife was on it too. Since my wife was in pain, I wanted to stay with her to support her and also to make sure they explained the costs and tests before they did them. They said I couldn't go in with her because of Covid-19 rules. My wife told the staff that she had recent blood work and the records were at *** or her doctor's office. She also told them about the Teledoc visit and that the doctor thought it might be shingles. A few hours later, my wife was let go at 10:40 AM with a prescription for Hydrocodone and told to see her regular doctor in a few days. On August 12th, after taking painkillers for a few days, she saw her regular doctor, Daniel Jasko, who examined her and said she had shingles. The ER didn't examine her well when she was there and seemed more interested in doing expensive tests. On August 29, I got a bill in the mail saying we owed $13,387.16 after insurance paid $4198.04 and we would get another bill from the doctor. Advent Health charged $9322.87 for a CT scan and $1,177.48 for blood work. There were also other fees for IV and using the emergency room, which made the total $13,387.16. When I looked online, CT scans were supposed to cost between $300 and $1200. Advent charged $9322.87! They never told my wife or me about the costs before they did anything. When I asked the billing department and talked to Cindi, she said they don't tell people the costs before they do anything, they just do what they think is necessary. That's not fair or right. Advent Health already got $3459.40 from my insurance for my wife's visit. I think they should take that as full payment and someone should look into their testing and billing practices. They are ruining people's finances. Please help! Thank you. *** and

AdventHealth.com Grossly inflated charges on my bill for an er visit

I received a collections letter dated 12/22/22 regarding an unpaid bill from 3/10/22 from AdventHealth North Pinellas ER department.

I received a bill for $13,750.09 for less than 4 hours in the ER. (total bill was $19,146.75) The largest part of the bill was for a CT of the chest with contrast... a whopping $9,702.69! A 1 view chest x-ray was $846.88 and an EKG was billed out as $586.48. These are but a few of the charges that I was billed for. I am an x-ray technologist and know full well that nearly $10,000 for a CT is highway robbery.

I researched the Health Care Blue Book and Fair Health pricing tools for similar exams performed in my area... and I looked at the Medicare allowable pricing on the CMS.gov site and discovered the same thing.

A neighbor just shared her bill from the same hospital. A CT scan with contrast was $894. A 1 view chest x-ray was $50. Her entire bill after a month in the critical care unit was $28,357.09. How is this even allowed? How is this fair?

As a side note: I sent Advent a check for $4500 with a notation on the back saying, "Acceptance and negotiation of this check constitutes accord and satisfaction and your waiver of any unpaid balance." I was under the impression that if the check was cashed then they ultimately agreed to waive any balance owed.

Desired outcome: I want my debt to be cleared from Advent Hospital/debt collectors.
