We booked a cruise on 02/19/26 to depart on 10/21/26. We paid a $100 deposit and purchased Trip Mate Travel Protection for $1498 ( for 2) at that time. I inquired about cancellation fees and was told I could cancel 120 days or more prior to departure and have to pay $100 per person. What was not explained clearly was that the trip protection has different stipulations state by state and goes into effect the day after purchase ( even though the the departure date is 9 months away) and can have a no refund policy after 15 days from purchase. This was well explained to me after I tried to cancel my trip on 03/20/26, 28 days after my purchase. I feel my Viking Rep did a very poor job relaying the stipulations pertaining to this trip protection in canceling a cruise at the time of my booking.
Claimed loss: $1498
Desired outcome: I would like a full refund of $1498. I feel I wasnt made aware of the difference between canceling a Cruise and canceling trip protection.
