Viking Cruises review: Missed excursion

Lake Como pre cruise extension for Rhine River Cruise sailing on 24 Sept 2025.

Rain storm in Lake Como prevented scheduled tours on 22 and 23 Sept. Not good planning for alternate excursions.

Lake Como extension was booked to take advantage of the boat cruise and a visit to Bellagio on our 40th wedding anniversary.

This did not happen for those of us on the Lake Como extension. However, many boats were still operating safely on the Lake on 23 Sept.

Looked for tour compensation once we arrived onboard the Sigrun on 24 September. We were told by the cruise director (Sam) that there was nothing he could do to provide us with alternate tours. We would have to pay for any additional tours. If we desired to pursue our concerns, we needed to contact corporate Viking directly.

I am voicing my concern about the lack of effort by Viking to ensure that all passengers were satisfied with the efforts of Viking to ensure that alternate excursions were provided or that the passengers were even contacted by Viking to voice their regret for the disruption in the cruise process.
