SafeCo fraud

I called Safeco in January and was quoted a price for 6 months of insurance. I specifically asked if the amount quoted was the entire cost for car insurance for 6 months and was told YES. I agreed to the 6 months of coverage and paid with my credit card. A few months later, Safeco sent me a bill for an additional $444 claiming they have the right to adjust the premium at any time. When I called, the woman told me that their records show the person in January had not informed me of the possibility of additional charges. If I had known, I NEVER would have agreed to buy the policy. Now Safeco claims they are unable to access the recorded conversation from January and said they will cancel my policy in May if I don't pay the extra $444. BTW - 12 years with Safeco without an accident, claim or moving violation and this is how they treat me!
This is out and out fraud! I switched and will start fighting Safeco for a refund. I'm also reporting them to the Insurance Department. They need to be stopped!

I strongly agree with this complaint. My mother has had this insurance company for over 20 years and no claims have been paid by SAFECO although they claim they did. However, when I questioned to tell me when they paid a claim, they could not answer me. They said they couldn't talk to me about her insurance, but assured me they had been taking "great care of her for the last 20 years!" Hello?! I thought she had full coverage since the premium was so high-- $683.30 (or $647.70 if she paid in full at once) for six months! She has never had an accident that was her fault, and since she's only had liability coverage with them, why would they ever say they had paid a claim for her?! That was a big lie! She said she remembered calling them one time because she needed roadside assistance, they told her to call AAA! Now is that what they call service and taking care of my 89-year-old mother! The premium statement they sent in the mail for renewal did not even identify what coverages she was paying for--and when I asked, they said they could not discuss her insurance with me, at least not without my mother present. So, I took a day off work to go her house, and we placed a call together on her speaker phone. The first time we called we were told the agent was at lunch and would be back in about an hour. So we waited until after an hour had pasted and tied to call again. This time we got the agent's voice mail. We left a message to call back as soon as possible. We waited another hour, and called again, and again got his voice mail. It was at this point that I began to feel that we were being avoided, so we called again and I left the message that we were still waiting for return phone call and had been waiting all afternoon and if we didn't get a call back right away, we were not going to pay the bill and were going to look for another insurance company. Well, that did it--we got a call back within 5 minutes. My mother told the agent that she gave her permission for me to speak in her behalf regarding her insurance coverage. When I asked what coverages she had for the $647.70, the agent said "she has a copy of her policy." I said she doesn't know where it is, and I don't have any idea either. I said that whenever I receive my insurance renewal notice from my company that it always showed in detail exactly what was covered. He then reluctantly gave me the coverage information which was minimum coverage amounts, plus towing. That's when I found out she only liability coverage! I said that seemed very high for a person who drives less than 10 miles a week and only in daylight hours! He said that was not high, and yada yada yada. I said that she did not need "towing" because she had AAA for that--he said well that was only $5.30. I said well then that's $5.30 she does not need to pay! Then he again proceeded to say he couldn't speak to me anymore. I said well fine then, we'll just try to find more reasonable insurance elsewhere! He said, "fine, go ahead!" We were both shocked at his comment and lack of concern. I told him that I was going to report him to the BBB, to which he said, "sorry you feel that way, but you can do whatever you want!"

After we hung up, I tried to find insurance through another company--I called one and gave all my mom's information and the agent said she would call me back within 15 minutes with a quote. She did call me back--great! But the story now gets better. This agent said she was sorry but that she could not give a quote because my mother's driver's license had been revoked! Well, this was news to me -- I did not know this. But of course her former insurance agent at SAFECO certainly would have known this! That's why he did not want to discuss anything with me. Apparently, all he was interested in was getting my mom's $647.70 for six months, all the while knowing that if she would have an accident and turned it in to SAFECO, they would not honor the claim because they could legitimately say that since her driver's license was revoked, she no longer had coverage! What jerks! And do you think they would have refunded her premium payment of $647.70?! I think not. How unethical are these crooks! They will no longer take advantage of my mother, and I would advise anyone considering auto insurance coverage to not do business with SAFECO unless they don't mind being screwed!

SafeCo Don't have parts for chairs

I purchased a fairly expenseive TaskMaster Industrial Chair for Safeco Products . I had a situation where the back became damaged and need to replace the padded back. The chair was sent as an assembled kit. I would have assumed that if a part broke or became defective I would be able to get a replacement. This was not the case. In fact that don't have any replacement parts other then casters (which my chair does not have). This is an industrial chair and would be expected to experience rough use and parts would need to be replaced. I wanted to inform any potential buyers of Safeco Products to consider this fact before purchasing something from them. Product is made in China and can't contact them to send a part to help a customer out.

Their boss send her for an appointment with my husband for business purposes. and so they met each other and talk about the business. my husband told her that he needs some time to review their proposal and will just call back and review some details.

But this lady never let him go, every day she used to call my man to meet up in a motel to continue whatsoever businessess they have. my man admits he tests this girl's ability. till one day, rose de guzman is asking my husband to bring her to korea and settled down. other than that, she is asking alot of money almost everyweek.

My husband told him that he is settled already and was just open for fun she brought. but this girl is so willing to do everything to get him.

He decided to hire a c.i.agent to know the backgroundof this girl and from there he knew that rose is family-woman already with one child. my husband confronted her about it but she kept denying it.

SafeCo lousey insurance

I was hit by a driver insured with this company 39 days ago. I am so fed up with the lies being told to me by Michael Brandon, claims specialist. I was question like I was at fault. (I was stopped at a redlight) He also asked me if a Ford Excursion was a compact car.
I have a Ford Excursion and my first rental was a Ford Edge (minature in comparison) There are several reasons that I have a large vehicle with 4wheel drive. I am now driving a minivan.
My truck repairs were complete 8 days ago. Michael Brandon lied and told the body shop the check had been sent to me the week before. That was lie #2. He also cancelled my rental. I paid out of pocket for one day and explained to Mr. Brandon that my truck wouldn't be released until payment was received. He then triend to convince me he could get it released on his word and if not he would extend my rental. (Lie #3)
He avoided my phone calls and would not return messages. I had to trick him by calling from another number.
He let me know the check would be sent overnight ... It has been 5 nights and still no check and I am probably driving a stolen van as of yesterday at 6pm.

SafeCo file against safeco with your state!!!

File complaints against your state's Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration! Google it and you'll link right to the department and can file an easy form online!

SAFECO is giving me the runaround as well! After being rear-ended and forced into another car...the accident was witnessed by two police officers and was clearly detailed in the police report, their client was issued a ticket, and even Safeco's own appraiser said it was obvious I was hit from behind and forced into the other vehicle, it has now been ONE MONTH and Safeco has YET to declare liability! They're still "undecided"!

Now I'm broke...out of $4000 of savings I had one month ago and I'm now forced to pawn off all of the things most valuable to me, just to survive!

SAFECO has managed to destroy my life in a matter of days. And they couldn't care less!

SafeCo not efficient coverage damage

Here is my problem. three months ago, I involved to a car accident on April 5, 2009 at Charlie Dang IncomeTax Return's parking lot of Main street near China town Wa., the driver, Ngu, Hoa Quoc who was only a construction worker (Alki Fence co.) at the time the accident occurred, he neither have any signs or notice to let people aware that parking lot he was working on, we both were back up the cars and hit my rear left passengers’ side close to gas cover (only my car was damaged). After a few conversations with me, he tried to set this accident by paying cash to my car damage if my car gets fix, and did not want to show the insurant card at the first place.
The driver’s insurant carrier (Safeco) tried to delay for a period of time to view the case. Couple months later, they came up with their decision by cover the damage only 60% of my car's damage. After I can’t negotiate with they to pay up 100% coverage. I ‘m seeking an answer anywhere else to find the solution but unfortunatly it ‘s still unsolved as present time.
My questions and concern still in doubt about how do I get this problem solve and done? it ‘s been bothering me and frustrating at all time no matter where I’m at, work or home it’s worrisome to me. Please give me any advises that this case will solve eventually 100% coverage of my damage by the driver, who is responsible for my car's damage? will his insurance carrier change their decision?

SafeCo unethical liars and manipulators

I was involved in a major accident and Safeco manipulated the situation from the beginning. They lied and covered up theft that occurred while the vehicle was under their care and control. I was forced to release my vehicle to their contractor after they harassed me numerous times stating that if I did not release the vehicle I would be responsible for all costs. Having just gotten out of the hospital this was extremely stressful and not something I was prepared to deal with. Their contractor's salavage yard stole parts and equipment from my new vehicle that I had only 7 months prior to the accident.

They changed field adjusters on me when they found the replacement cost of my vehicle. The newly assigned field adjuster lied on numerous occasions regarding the damage and pictures taken of the vehicle. Further he related on more than one occasion that he kept telling their contractor salvage yard that the "vehicle is not yours yet". I wonder how many people have been victims of further damage from their own insurance or their contractors and then forced to make a separate claim with their threats to not repair the vehicle, when in actuality they are hindering the process further. Needless to say after this adjuster got involved my vehicle that was totalled was now repairable. The adjuster failed to state he was the insurance liason where he suggested I take my vehicle. Further, he was dictating the repairs and extent of repairs to be made to my vehicle.

They are a sorry insurance company. They lied and got away with so much and were not held accountable for any of their actions. Their bottom line was to make sure their company came off "unscathed" with more money in their pockets regardless of their Failure to Act in Good Faith. Further the adjuster related that the other insurance had a "really big" policy and that there should be no need for them to pay any medical regarding my injuries. Safeco is even willing to hang other insurance companies as long as they remain minimally touched.

I have had a number of Insurance policies with a company called SafeCo for the past 5 years with no problems or complaints. Until 2017 I do not know if their structure changed or they stopped caring about their customers, according to SafeCo I have a policy on a motorcycle that was due to expire Feb 27th 2017, according to SCDMV Safeco canceled my policy Dec 5th 2017, and due to this fact that I still own the motorcycle now have to pay SCDMV $1400.00 in fines and fees. The first that I was aware of this was Feb 22nd 2017 when I paid my property tax for this motorcycle. I was not contacted by Safeco in any media, No letters, no phone calls or emails, NOTHING. Now I have to pay my DMV almost what my motorcycle is worth because Safeco did not or would not contact me about my policies.

December 22nd, 2017 A Safeco insured came into my lane causing me to lose control of my vehicle and be hit by another. The accident exacerbated. Some back problems I already had... They don't want to pay because my treatments would probably have been needed later on anyway... Insurance companies like that are the reason there are sooo many lawsuits.

I'm out a lot of money and a lot of missed hours at work and now definitely will only get relief if I have back surgery. I'm only 31 and have house note, car note oh and kids... But by all means please let your insured almost kill me and my children as we were left spinning in the middle of a busy interstate the weekend of Christmas. By the way she didn't pull over she continued on and decided later to go to the police station. So, how can i make life easier for an insurance adjuster and the CRAPPY company that they work for. And if you don't believe they're crappy just google Safeco auto claims and all that you find will be very very negative instances of this insurance.

SafeCo company is denying claim because they can not get hold of there insured. they will not pay for my rental vechile that they told me to go and pickup.

On 7-13-08 a person that has insurance with SafeCo ran a red light and hit my truck. I called in the claim and was given a claim number and told to go to Enterprise Rental and get a comparable vehicle. I picked up a truck on 7-18-08 from Enterprises using the claim number given to me by Trevor at SafeCo Insurance. Phone #[protected] claim #[protected]. On 7-25-08, Enterprise called me and said that the claim had been denied and I would have to personally pay for the rental. I called SafeCo and they said to tell them that it was still pending but would be okayed as soon as they talked to their insured. Today I called and talked to SafeCo claims adjuster and was told that unless they go in touch with the insured that the claim would be denied and I would have to pay for the rental. I would never of gone and gotten the rental unless they would of okayed it. I feel that this is not fair that I have to pay for the rental and my $500 deductible when I am the victim. My truck could have already been repaired and an rental would not have been necessary past the two weeks if everything would have been handle by SafeCo in a timely manner and correctly. I thought when someone hit you with insurance that it was the problem of that person, yet I am the one taking time off my job to take care of phone calls and trying to track down all the information needed to get this claim okayed.
I do not have rental on my policy, so I will not be able to get one while my truck is in the shop. I will be out that money plus my $500 deductible that should of been taken care of by the person that hit me. I faxed over the police report that I had to go and pick up and pay for, plus there was a witness and he got a citation for running the red light. I don't understand what else they need but they tell me unless they get in touch with him they will deny the claim. This is just not fair!

SafeCo = RipCo After having so much trouble with one of their insured I did a search on SafeCo complaints and man do you ever get a TON of links on this Rip Off Company...I just picked this one at random and decided to add my frustration with this company. A driver insured by this company rear ended and totaled my car...the settlement they say is fair, is no where close to what I can find for a replacement...I pull up similar cars with the same mileage and they are all at least 2000 over what they deem a fair value assessment...never-mind I had other items (ie backup camera, trailer hitch, premium stereo) all of this they supposedly factored into the so called "Fair Settlement" ...I don't know how that can be fair when those other cars that are listed 2000 to 3000 over my car don't have the same equipment...of course you look at their report and they pull comparable from Car Lots, its a complete joke...they give you comparables with car dealers you have never heard of...at least not where I live have I ever heard of "Golden Cars" Even at that their car was listed above mine with 30, 000 more miles on it...yeah this company is a real loser...I have only dealt with one other total loss car back in 2006 and had no problems getting a fair settlement...these clowns must get some extra bonus for saving the company money and giving people the shaft

I had the same thing happen to me and got even worse treatment from Safeco (Liberty Mutual). I am out yet 5600 dollars and they just told me they wanted to make me a SWEET settlement offer of 250 bucks. After they assummed 100 percent liability I had to supply my own source of transportation, and even had to go buy some of the parts to fix my car. TRUST ME!

SAY NO! TO SAFECO IN IDAHO!

Safeco = Very unprofessional, receives a Poor rating, avoid this company and if you do have a claim against them, talk to an attorney before dealing with them. Safeco is very slow to react, pay, and it seems very few people in the company know what is going on regarding a particular claim. Safeco admitted fault when one of there clients rear ended my van a week after the accident. 30 days later, Safeco has not paid for my totaled van and it took them over 20 days to arrive at a settlement price.

In Texas (and I suspect other places), it does state you are required to make sure an intersection is cleared before entering it. But when you are the 2 or 3 car going through the intersection, you may reasonably assume the intersection is clear. CASE 1. I had a similar experience but I was car 3 or 4 going through the intersection. Luckily it was immediately in front of the San Antonio Police Station in downtown San Antonio at SHIFT change. I had a police report with about 30 police as witnesses in addition to other people. The driver of course had no insurance and explained to the police he did not stop because he was not sure he had enough gas to get home and did not want to waste any waiting on the light. My insurance company LIBERTY MUTUAL repaired my car and went after the individual that ran the light. CASE 2. I stop at a stop light and am rear ended. At the accident the other driver called his insurance company and reported the accident while we were waiting for the police. I contacted their agent and he had someone look at my car because I was demanding a rental. The adjuster declared my vehicle drivable and denied my request. I had to personally pick up the police report, I had to make a copy, I had to send one copy certified mail to ALLSTATE as well carry a copy to the local agent, I had to get a copy of the traffic light recording (luckily it had a video camera) and send them also, I had to wait 3 weeks for their traffic investigator to go to the site of the accident. I had been denied a rental vehicle so when the finally agreed to repair my car, and I took my car in they said driving the vehicle had actually damaged it more and then they refused to pay for the additional damage because I CHOSE to drive my car. MEANING: Your insurance company will look out for you because they want your business. If you cost too much they will get rid of you. The other persons insurance company could not care less for you and will do all in their power to resist paying a claim.

The people talking crap for the ins. companies. "you should have got out of your car walked to intersection looked both ways returned to your car and push it across the intersection" people like this i hope have to go through what everybody else is going through with safco. being hit by a drunk driver with a 2 page record. your ins. saying they have ins. so go to them. when you only have uninsured and under insured. his insurance cant get in touch with the drunk bast. but they have a police report by a state trooper that states unit 1 (him) hit unit 2 (my wife and child) doing over 100 but still wont cover the car are anything else. when you loose your job due to not being able to get there cause you have no car over 2 months. there should be a law against ins. componies dueing crap like this. so to the people going through hell i feel for you. the ones that are taking up for the insurance companies. your day will come when you are going through what we are. and i hope it is 10x worse.

Every insurance company has the attitude that just because a traffic ticket was issued does not necessarily mean it is 100% that person's fault. Look up your state's comparative negligence laws. Did you look before entering the intersection? Just because your light is green does not mean you have no duty to keep a look out on things going on in the intersection.

When you are in an accident with someone, don't rely on their carrier to take care of you. They aren't working for you, they are working for their insured. Don't like your $1000 deductible? Carry better insurance. Don't want to wait on theier decision? Your carrier can get repairs going immediately & wait on Safeco.

My first comment is: I love the fact that Liberty Mutual is advertising on this site. They own Safeco !

I was involved in a similar accident as mentioned above. The driver of the other vehicle ran a red light and was ticketed. An accident report was done by the local police department. Their were witnesses. Names and addresses were given to the police. None of these witnesses were relatives. Several tickets were issued to the other drive. Not only did I contact Safeco (aka Liberty Mutual) but also my insurance company. My insurance company advised me to contact Safeco and if their were any problems with Safeco to let them know. Of course their was. Safeco was waiting for a copy of the police report. At that time I told them that the other driver was issued several moving violation tickets. The Safeco agent told me that just because the other driver was issued traffic violation tickets does not mean the other driver was totally at fault. After being stonewalled by Safeco i.e. no accident report, then could not get hold of the other driver to take their statement, then being told by Safeco that the driver of this company vehicle was not authorized to drive the vehicle and on and on it went I finally contacted my insurance company to have them get my car repaired to which they did. After all I did need to go to work to pay my $1000.00 deductible and car rental. At that time I did not carry car rental insurance (I do now).

Well, to make a long story short, I received a letter from Safeco yesterday notifying me that their investigation has been completed and that the cause of the accident was my fault for failure to make sure the intersection was clear before proceeding thru the intersection. When I went thru the intersection the traffic light was absolutely green. I was the second car thru the light.

Their was an accident report, traffic tickets were issued and their were witnesses but Safeco still said I was at fault.

I seriously doubt that you were told to get a rental the day you filed the claim. No insurance company would authorize a rental for a non-customer the same day a claim is filed.

Was a police report filed? Did you make it available to the adjuster?

Just because someone presents an insurance card that says they have coverage does not mean they do. Sounds like you should hav call your on company in the first place.

SafeCo don't work with them

Safeco was difficult to work with and even to talk with. The rep, Farah Azarbarsin, made effort only to avoid helping us. She was uncooperative and threatening and would not or could not answer our questions.

Safeco did not pay medical bills to any hospital/doctors. Paid only a fraction for the personal injury to each person. They made no compensation for missed work.

Their comments were nasty, documentation was unsatisfactory, attitude was threatening.

It will be your misfortune to have Safeco responsible for you or a claim you make. You will be most unhappy with the service.

Do not affiliate with Safeco.

I have been with this boneheads for a year now to find out they charged me for uninsured motorist. This is their scam. They claim they have send us a form oringinally for me to sign if I don't get the uninsured motorist. I never did. Becase of this, they have charged me $100 more a month claiming that is was my fault i never checked. Even more to this scam, my wife a month ago got hit by an uninsured motorist. Guess what they said? You guest it. With just liability I don't qualify. Then what was I charged $100 more a month for? What a crooks.

SafeCo it is an unethical insurance company

My experience with SAFECO insurance company has been that it unethically denies claims in order to meet their bottom line. I can honestly say that I have never had such a horrific experience dealing with an insurance company until I dealt with SAFECO. I was hit by a driver insured through SAFECO, and from the very moment that I contacted them they attempted to manipulate the situation. First, they only wanted me to go to have my car checked out by one of their auto body repair shops, and when we informed them that this was illegal, the troubles just kept coming. They ended up not even looking at my car, although their insured admitted fault. The adjuster was rude, extremely difficult to reach, and denied the claim to meet his bottom line although their insured admitted hitting my car. Please, I recommend: do not choose this company. They will want to ***.

My car is being illegal put up for auction by this insurance company. We have not settled on the amount for the car nor have we sent in the title. We are still the legal owners. Our claims adjuster is not contacting us back and did not acknowledge that that car was going up for auction when asked.

If i called and cancelled my insurance on the 20th why would you wait until the 22nd to fully cancel it and on top of it proceed to charge me on the 23rd? And the rep tells me "thats just how we do it". What kind of way to do business is this? This is an awful way to treat your customers normally let alone during the holidays.

Charged me for a person who does not exist for over 2 years and cost me over $2000! When contacted about the situation they only offered us $40 back! Absolutely ridiculous. Horrible customer service.

I filed a complaint online on August 16 after my car was hit while street parked with no note left. Since then, I've heard nothing. I have reached out to my assigned agent multiple times by phone, email and text through the phone system with no response. Ive asked in these messages to speak to a live person.

The person Safeco sent to help me to open my door car was very nasty when I showed him some small damage he did to the leather inside the right door of my car. He call ungrateful in a very angry tone of voice and left staying many things I couldn't understand. I think he did not need to act like that.

My car was attacked on March 22nd by an individual on foot, causing nearly $2000 in damage. The police report classified the attack as "vandalism" and Safeco initially agreed. Safeco then reclassified the incident as a "collision" so they could avoid paying out what they owe.

This is the worst insurance company I have ever been with! I had a very similar experience with them. Non responsive and rude. They stated that they did not need to place Toyota parts on my car because generic are cheaper market parts. Even though market value parts do not fit well on a Toyota. They would not allow for a 2nd quote and threatened if I went outside of their contracted collision I would not have any warranties. I would not recommend this company to anyone!

I had a lady insured by Safeco Insurance hit me a month ago...I cannot seem to get anyone here to call me back! I spend 40 minutes on hold trying to reach a supervisor today. The call center gal finally transferred me to the Presidential complaint dept where I spent another 20 minutes on hold only to get transferred to a voice mail that disconnected me before I could even leave a message...WOW!

I hav
e been a property owner with Liberty Mutual Homeowners for 12 years. Never had a claim until our neighbor's contractor destroyed a sidewalk that was providing foundation support for my house. I experienced multiple people who told me they were my "desk adjuster". I provided (6 times), at my cost, structural and construction reports on the damage, which Liberty Mutual "lost".

The "field adjuster" thought we could repair this issue for less the $500. Of course he was not a licensed contractor, or structural engineer, or had any knowledge of the SFDBI. Followed by, months later, trying to send us $140 to settle this. The cost to fix is upwards of $175, 000+.

If anyone knows a good attorney, please have them contact me. This has gone on since last March.
