Tech Pros Group reviews and complaints

You would have to be a complete idiot not to question as to why this company has changed names three times now that I know of. It started out as ICTP, and that is when the scams inception began. From there it went to "tech pros group" and now apparently "LAN/WAN professionals." Why so many name changes? Oh yeah, because when any one company gets enough bad press, they change names and become a new entity. That is the way things have always been done. I almost went to that place before reality slapped me in the face and I knew Copeland was pressing the issue as hard as he was because he wanted to get paid. The Choi brothers (albeit I heard Eric's brother is no longer a part of this ponzi scheme, good for him) pretty much bankroll Copeland into getting students in the door and "running game" on everyone to make it sound like an exciting opportunity. Does anyone do their homework? I've talked to the individuals investigating the first company and you yourself have to wonder if this was such an amazing opportunity, how come the "school" is no longer able to accept student loans? The reason for that is because the state of California has banned them from accepting them anymore. They take all the money, and once they reach a nice sum, they close the school down and open up somewhere else in Irvine. They have an even better system now since all those student loans attracted so many investigations. NOW, they just have you sign a contract that makes you give them 20% of your earnings for one year. They are literally just robbing you on a far more personal level now than they ever were prior. They just reach right into your bank account, whether you have a job or not, and take what they assume they've somehow earned. Anybody who signs up for this pipe dream educational opportunity will see how things work, but unfortunately for you to truly see this, you'll have to sign the dotted line. After completion you'll start seeing how people aren't as friendly to you anymore. If you want a bunch of certs that you did nothing to earn but study test answers, then you can do that yourself without spending $24, 000 or whatever it is they charge you now. But I urge you to go to an actual community college or a sponsored vocational program and leave these charlatans alone. If you believe their BS, then I have some swamp land for sale in Florida.

Students be warned. All the evidence is there. They might be able to change their name, but a zebra never changes its stripes. These folks will just find more and more cunning ways to get your money, and they operate this way because in California, there are loopholes to the laws stipulating education. These guys have scammed a lot of hard working, honest people out of their livelihood, some coming even as far as Europe. Don't let them scam you too.

I'd like to comment on those who are giving LAN/WAN a bad wrap. I am a tech with over 10 years under my belt. I lacked certifications and stumbled upon this program. I do agree that it sounded too good to be true, but I went for it anyway to progress in my field. Overall, It was a great experience. They provide a fair amount of hands on and also gave me the knowledge on how to pass my MCSA and CCNA which I did within a month after completing the program.

They do claim it to be an scholarship/internship, but it is more of a pay your way as opposed to the free ride you generally hear about. These hidden fees mentioned are all on paper and are not hidden at all. You pay for your airfare room/board and book fees all of which is refunded if you are accepted into the elite program of the CCIE internship.

After going through the program, they do tac 20% of your annual salary for a year as stated which isn't bad considering they damn near doubled my salary. However, I settled with them as they provide you with that option to pay them prior to landing a job for an amount that came to about 10%.

All in all, if you are considering going here for certification training - my advice is to don't hold back. DO it now while you have the opportunity - They are professional and good people and get you certified regardless of what you may read online.

I am so glad to find out about it first and not be taken. Times are rough for everyone right now - so loosing money to scammers is not helpful.

I went through a similar experience. I saw this ad on careerbuilder.com and i send my resume and a lady called angela khang contacted me scheduled an interview with a guy called christopher trista. It sounded like a great opportunity but guys i'm telling you this is the new way of getting peoples money. They will tell you that the training is free and stuff but there is a lot of hidden costs in it. In other words if you wanna get microsoft certification just go to microsoft.com and they have all the details in it. You dont have to go thru techpros group to get certifications. I got out of it before it was too late so ya all of you guys just be careful.

We got a bill for $89.95 - have no idea how this happened. When I called to complain, they said it was outside f the 30 day return policy.

It's a FRAUD company..that's what I can see. Don't go on positive reviews because they are fake reviews.

IQTECHPRO is a real liar and fraud company and do not have any ethics. I have a written communication on my deposit getting refunded if not picked up in lottery. After 9 months now they refunded less than 50% amount and not are not responding. They also have not sent the letter copy which is received from USCIS informing about the letter not picked up in the lottery. Initially they said 100% will be refunded. After the lottery process was over, they sent email on if we want to be considered for 2015 cycle since they will be charging from 2015. Now they aren to even responding. IT SEEMS THEY ARE MAKING MONEY BY PICKING APPLICATIONS< PROCESSINSG ONLY SOME OF THEM AND KEEPING 50% OF REMAINING APPLICATION. PLEASE DO NOT PROCESS APPLICATION THROUGH IQTECHPRO..

The review should have negative stars as well, because that is what they deserve.

This review is for those people who are planning to process their H1B from IQ Tech Pros in future. The purpose of this review is that they can't cheat more people. I know couple of people with whom they did the same so it is nothing that only I had bad experience. But still this review is totally based on my experience and are my personal views.

I opted them to process my H1B this year (2014) and I had chosen them because they told me that in case your application doesn't pick in the lottery, they will refund 100 % money. I had received this in written from Lakshmi Daniel. I had paid $ 5000 as H1 B fee.

My application didn't pick in the lottery and my never ending nightmares started from here. After writing several mails and follow up, they wrote me back saying if I opt for next year processing and if your application doesn't pick up in the lottery, you will get 100 % refund with no processing fee otherwise we are gonna change our rule. From next year onward, we will charge processing fee. I said, I would like my money back and then they stop responding to my mail. They never picked any of my call. In fact most of the time, you can't connect to given number. After writing 50+ mails, they sent check of 40 % amount of what I had paid to them ($ 5000). I wrote several mails and made several calls to them. No body even bothered to receive my call or reply to my mail. They are cheaters and liars. Never ever process your visa from IQ Tech Pros. It is better to process from consultancy who tells you upfront that they will charge you fee in case your application doesn't select in the lottery.

They are highly unprofessional with no Etiquette!. They will make money from those people as well whose application don't get selected in the lottery.

Guys, Now it's up to individual if still one wants to go with IQ Tech Pros. My personally experience was very very bad with them and I would say never ever go with them.

Hey Katie I think the Better Business Bureau might disagree with your endorsement. They have given Tech Pros Group an F! The BBB does not give a company an F unless it is a SCAM! I have a sinking suspision you might know that because you probably work for them.

I attended tech pros group at the one of their boot camps during the month of April 2007. It was not easy. Did I get my moneys worth? Yes I believe that I did. This training will cost you a lot, about 19% of your income after you complete the course if they find a job for you. I opted to pay lump sum which was a lot less than it would have cost it I have let them that 10% of my salary for 15 months. It is a lot of hard work that if you do it according to their plan you will succeed. I was in a class of 25, only 12 of us finished the month project. One person had a family emergence and would return for a later training. The other 12 either quit or did not make the cut to continue each week due to poor performance. You see each week they evaluate you to see if you passed that week and thus continue. I think that most of the complainers are who could not cut the mustard, expected to get a free ride or were to dedicated enough to put in a 110%.

The days are long, M-F 8 am till 10 pm, sat, 9 – around 7. Sunday you are off. The other deal that some people can not handle or do not like is that you are sharing a two bedroom two bath apartment with 5 people two an apartment men and women are in separate apartments.

I do not feel that they are scammers. Read the material carefully, it all there and just as in any other contract it will be hard to beat them in court. After all if you signed the contract and you did not understand it all whose fault is that?

During training and afterword it had good support from them; however, I paid them their fees. I have not complaints. I was in a class with 4 other women and 20 guys. Three or four of the men were Islamic. During the second the week we had to team in pairs to work together to share equipment between (Cisco Switch), they all complained about the fact that women were in the class. TPG’s attitude was 1, we are in California which does not allow sexual discrimination, 2, If you have a problem with working with or for women then this career field is not the best choice for you, as women probably equal or out number the male work force. Two continued to complain citing the religious beliefs; they terminated and escorted to the airport the same day.

TPG expect a wash out rate of 10% to 15%. If you quit you still have to pay a pro rated amount. All this was explained on the first day before getting started and had the option to quit then with out additional charge. You are made to sign a document stated this and I think the complainers are just dissatisfied that hey did not put in the required efforts to complete the course.

I obtained my CCNA and MCSA during the program. I still need a couple of tests to get MSCE cert. Having my CCNA I am now working a Network Operations Center. I am currently working for DISA Europe in Stuttgart Germany. I would not have this job if I did not have my CCNA. Did TPG help get a job? No not directly, but the certification I achieved allow me to obtain work in the IT career field. Experience, training, certification get you an interview, an interview get you a job, nothing else. One guy got a job before the course was completed with the direct help of TPG. I am sure others in the California area west coast were able to get a job as well with TPG help. I live near Washington DC metro area in Northern Virginia, one of the three hotbeds for IT work.

Mona, I wouldn't worry about it too much, complaints are exactly what they mean..."Complaints". It's a good way to enhance your career only if ur in the right situation, that's my outlook on it anyway. If you need some certifications and you don't want to spend a whole lot of dough on classes and stuff, it's a good way to get them fairly quick and easily, as far as the training, the remote portion that they give you is fair in my opinion, if you put in your time, you can learn lots, take it from me...If your husband is in need of a job right away, i wouldn't recommend TPG, if he has a few months to spare though, i would highly recommend this to him, you can get your microsoft and Cisco certs and actually know what you're doing within a few short months...maybe 4 or 5 and than get placed rather quickly.
