First of all, I selected a free lancer who claimed to be living in the UK as I wanted someone who had marketing experience and contacts within the British Isles. This was in order to promote my photography on Instagram. Once I found a free lancer who satisfied this criteria, £105 was transferred from my PayPal account. As the work proceeded I was then informed by Instagram that the freelancer was based in Nigeria. When this was reported to Support, they expected me to proceed with the job. This I found totally inappropriate. I requested a refund and ten messages on this has not been honoured.
This is such a shame as I was prepared to spend a significant amount of money with this platform.
