I scheduled a colonoscopy for a clinic price with no Insurance and I told them also had a good faith estimate. Later that same day I changed the date and confirm the information above. I was scheduled for 8/14/2024 and have proof. Then I received the prep letter, and they had me show up at the Methodist hospital in St. Louis Park. How would i know it was an outpatient service there. They told me after starting the service I did not prep correctly and sent me home to return the next day. They billed me $7200 for a colonoscopy, when I asked why. They said my insurance denied me. I have asked multiple times to talk to someone regarding this outrageous bill. I also asked to email my dispute, but they said they do not have email contact.
I was recommended to contact the Insurance Commissioner and if I don't find a resource to clear up the cost and pay a reasonable fee. That's my next step...
Claimed loss: $5000.
Desired outcome: I would pay the original good faith estimate of $1914.00
