Mister Transmission review: Definitely not recommended!

My 2008 Ram was brought to Mister Transmission on the Kingsway under Dan Holly, Priority Ford Automotive, who subcontracts transmission work to them. All monies and invoicing was thru Mister Transmission. Dan quoted $5K for a full rebuild on my transmission as he gets a 20% discount plus $500 for his time. I agreed, truck brought in via CAA on 26-02-2026. I said the truck was not drivable and was pretty sure the transmission was toast because it smelled burned tranny oil. They would check and let me know. No estimate given. They tried a test drive said battery was dead and also "loose" No test report/scan or estimate was provided. Updated the following day that told the tranny was out and on the bench and would and get back to me. Still no estimate. I called Dan March 5th. Price jumped to $8K but he was to confirm when he got the actual parts list. I called again March 10th and the price jumped to $11K to $13K by the end of the call. I said there was no way I was committing to that. Dan went on to say he had gone to check the truck and didn't think it was worth fixing but if I did the transmission would last for years. They went ahead and sent the torque converter for rebuilding without my consent. I refused to proceed and got a bill for $983.10 to bail the truck out but they had sent the torque converter away without my consent. They did manage to retrieve it and I picked it up unrepaired the following week. The tranny contents were dumped in in pieces into 4 cardboard boxes and sent home with the truck via Bob's Towing. I told Mister Transmission and Dan that I was very dissatisfied, and they said I'd have to deal with Dan but would have their district manager call me which he did but offered no resolve and wished me good luck. I called with Dan, he went on a rant about how much it cost to run a garage. I said I would think $200 was more than fair for his time. He told me to go F* myself and hung up. Getting a box of tranny parts voided my chance of core refund of approx $[protected]. I only brought truck in for tranny check not the other items listed that they recommended I repair on their bill that they billed me for looking at as well.
