I purchased a ticket with an upgrade charge for the amenity to being able to change the date of travel should the need arise. I had a change in travel plans and Frontier said I would have to pay a $230 fee to change the date. I checked to see what the charge would be if i bought a new ticket with the exact same amenities. The new ticket would cost $264 for a whopping savings of $30. The cost for this amenity was $34. So I ended up paying more than if I did not purchase the amenity. When one considers how many people buy the amenity and dont use it, the practice become worse. Frontier is scamming its customers!

Recommendation: Don't buy upgrades with Frontier!

That's such a sneaky, soulless money grab — I'd be fuming. You paid extra for peace of mind and they just flipped it into a trap. At this point I'd just dispute the whole thing with my card, even for the principle of it. Some companies really know how to crush your spirit, huh.
