American Signature Furniture review: overpriced and bad quality furniture! ( 114 comments)

I was so happy to walk into this store and find the exact style of couch that I was searching for with just one visit. We measured, we checked it out and it was just want I wanted. The furniture was delivered exactly when it was promised and then the problems began. The couch is a sectional and the clip will not old so that each time someone sits down the couch breaks apart, the leather nap has been scratched in several places so the fabric shows, the underlining is falling down, the wood legs had chips and the couch had several dirty marks on it (it is white).

I called & was told someone would call for an appointment to come out to take care of the repairs right away. I called for a week and couldn't get anyone to come out to look at the repairs.

I reported it to corporate and immediately (3 days later!) a man called to make an appointment. A dirty farmer type person showed up at my door and put his dirty fingerprints all over the couch and told me that he was so busy fixing all of their furniture he didn't know when he would be back. He told me the whole couch needed to be reupholstered, new legs were ordered and a new clip for the sectional. This was a month ago. No one has contacted me and they are now not returning my calls. If I had wanted a reupholstered couch I would have had my old one done. I have since learned through the internet that I possibly could have bought this same junk furniture at Big Lots and saved myself $500 or more. Great.

It seems these complaints are pretty old.
I bought furniture from American Signature a year ago and I love it. I bought a diningroom set and when I took it out of the box it had a rough edge on the table. I called the store and they sent out a repairman to fix it, within a week. He was very professional and I have enjoyed my furniture and my experience with the company. I get a lot of compliments on what beautiful furnishings i have. So quit complaining.

I bought my new living room sofa & chair at American Signature in Pinellas Park, Florida.I had shopped online and been to every furniture store in Pinellas County for weeks.Nothing was "just exactly what we wanted".We have a small living room, just the two of us and everything we saw was too big, leather or had too many pillows. This store had just opened and we found more sofas that suited us.We chose an apartment size sofa &oversized chair with a nice solid back and arms. The salespeople were very helpful. We went back to purchase and the first salesman was not there but he told the cashier to split the commission with the 1st guy because he spent so much time with us.Our furniture came six days later as promised. We could have got it "next-day" but got the Stain-Safe treatment.Delivery men were very good at unloading and setting up.We both inspected everything top to bottom. All was perfect and still is.Our experience was as good as it gets and we are very happy.I would buy from them again. In fact, would probably go there first!Good Luck.

Thank you for all of your comments. I found this site when I was looking for the store closest to me. I'm glad I kept reading and found that there were some satisfied customers also. As my Grandmother use to say "you get what you pay for"...you can't expect to pay $299 for a couch and think it's going to last for 10 years. I'm going shopping tomorrow and will give them a chance, but all of these comments will be in the back of my mind and I will check things out. I do feel for those unsatisfied customers. I've been there before when you've spent your money and then left hung out to dry. Again, thank you for posting your comments...our store is in Bear, Delaware.

I purchased a microfiber sectional from American Signature and got a great price. My sectional is 1 year old and looks great. I was given a fabric protector spray and it is miraculous. I have a seven year old she has spilled cereal and milk, also Maple syrup. With the cleaning kit along with the spray everything came right off. The frame is still in good shape I have not had any problems. Keep in mind that it is just me and my daughter I don't have many visitors so the couch has not had much wear and tear. The only issue I had was after some roughhousing on the couch the clip that hold s the section al together came off. All I had to do was drill the two screws back in and the couch was fine, I do have the warranty but I though it was pointless to call out someone for 2 loose screws. All in all I think I made a great purchase my furniture looks great and would cost twice as much at another store.

Bought a three piece living room set in Wheeling WV. The furniture arrived the next day and the delivery crew was great. Had to take off leggs as the house is 1890 ish. Salesman Paul West was outstanding, answered every question, and arranged a next morning delivery as we were leaving town. This store has been exemplary over the years and continues to do so. Great job.Terry and Marsha Moore

We purchased a bedroom set about a year ago at AS and have no complaints. The style was exactly what my wife had been looking for for two years and unable to find anywhere else. There were some minor hinge adjustments that I needed to make on the armoire for it to close smoothly, but otherwise it's been great. To be fair; these are not fine furniture quality pieces. If we had purchased fine furniture, I'd probably have some complaints but that's not what we paid for and we understood that going into it. There is nothing more true with respect to quality than "you get what you pay for." We evaluated quality and style vs. price and for us it balanced well enough to make the purchase and we're very happy with our set.
Now I will say that we did not purchase anything upholstered (other than the headboard/footboard on the bed). Couches and chairs are pieces where quality definitely matters because they take a beating more so than a wood dresser. After reading some of the complaints here, I probably would not purchase upholstered furniture from AS, but I would still consider buying wood pieces with the understanding that I was buying on the basis of style and price rather than top quality.

I do not know how you all are breaking your furniture...maybe you should lose some weight or use it for furniture like it is designed for. My wife and I have our whole house in amer sig arts and crafts. We had some scrathes, but AS replaced it. The price is cheaper than haverty or ethan allen and quality is similar. I am going to pick up more furniture today after buying from them for 5 years. True, if you pick up you have to bring it back if damaged. How about this idea...check it before you leave? Also warranty is 7 years! Can beat it. So maybe you all should spend less time on your sofa and get up and lose some weight to save money on furniture and your health.

I bought my bedroom set from ASF a little over a year ago. The wood underneath of the bed has broken. Now the bed is on a slant and I stuck some books underneath it to support it. I havent called ASF furniture yet because Im afraid that they will tell me something I dont want to hear and get me very upset. I plan on calling them this week to see if what they can do. I can not find the receipt for the purchase and I do not remember if I have any form of warranty.

Anyway, no one in our house is "overweight" as the previous poster so rudely implied. Although I must admit that my bedroom is the hub of the house and my family members love to sit on the edge of the bed. I would not have let them sit on my bed if I would have known the bed was made of cheap materials that would cause it to break. I assumed because I paid over $1, 000 for my bedroom set that I was getting quality furniture but looks can be deceiving. Anyway...its a bed, people lay, sit, kneel, (sometimes jump and stand) and all types of other activities in the bed. Everyone knows that the life of a decent new bed should be more than one year (even if a whole family of overweight people sat and slept in it every night).

Never buy bedroom furniture from ASF, it is trash.

I purchase a bedroom suite from the Camp Creek location in East point Ga. (Atlanta, GA). In the showroom it looked very nice, but when it was delivered to my home and set-up I was surprise it looked like trash. The head board was not sturdy, I showed it to the delivery man and he told me, "you have to push it against the wall, so that it does not shake". I could not believe he said that. The mirror was bend, the footboard had scratches all over it.

After all the problems I found wrong with the furniture I called the store and ask to speak to the Manager, he told me to hold on I was on hold for 30 minutes therefore I hung up. After two or three attempts to speak with a manger, I was told the manager was on a conference call.

Finally, I spoke to someone in customer service and explained to her I did not want the furniture due to it's condition she then scheduled the delivery men to come back to my home and pick the furniture up.

I will never buy furniture from them again.

Add me to the list of people who will not buy from American Signature again. I can only echo what I've read from others here about the constant lack of stock, the multiple re-scheduled delivery dates, and the delivery of damaged and stained pieces. I also bought the Stainsafe Lifetime Warranty. It has now been 4 months since a replacement sofa cushion slipcover was ordered... AS has some beautiful pieces, that's for sure, and rather good prices. But they're just not good at keeping up their end of the bargain.

I purchased the marlton oak living room set 2 months ago and when i went to pick it up it was torn on the bottom had a tear on the side and they told me they would diliver it to me. Then when they dilivered it the ottoman was messed up on the hinges and the arm rest on one of the sofas was caved in so when i sit my arm rests on a 2x4 underneath the material. And now the chair 1/2 has the same issue. All of their furniture is junk the cushions are already squished after one sitting and will not fluff back to its original new position AFTER ONE SITTING! and im only 195lbs! Terrible furniture and service. I'm bringing this ### back and will be sitting on the floor until we find something we like.. HOW SAD IS THAT

EVERYBODY,
Not buying furniture due to listed complaints. How many people are listed here? A dozen? Twenty. I own a furniture repair service, most stores have something go wrong sometimes. Its a fact of life, if you purchase anything and expect it not to have a chance of having something wrong you're very sad. These stores sell thousands of pieces of furniture a year. All delivered on time in ok condition and they last and perform as expected for their cost. Wake up! A hundred people could complain and you're looking at less then a fraction of one percent.
I'll tell you what happens, , , , , from the inside. You get what you pay for, you have different respondsibilities for the up keep of it based on style. You buy a big fluffy comfy sofa you're going to have to work to keep it that way. Gone are the days of the solid foam hard as a rock cushions our parents had. Theykept their shape forever because they were hard as a rock. Believe me or not. I have 27 year exp doing nothing but furniture repair. We hear, "They don't make them like they used to" They sure do! Maybe a little more plywood in the frames but it really is stronger then solid wood. SO the difference is in the styling, Soft equals more work period! All that comfort comes with a cost you have to fluff, rotate regulate and other wise maintian you furniture. Oh before I go, you can't lay on funiture either, it's not designed for it. You lay on it don't expect it to react the same as if you sat on it properly. Your kids can't hang on the arms, sit on top of the back cushions or stand on the stuff. They never could. I work on expensive stuff I work on cheap stuff. We have to fix it all because @%$@ happens, its part of the game. You buy something it could have something wrong. I could set up a service date with you and have a serviceman call out sick, I could set you up again and have a serviceman have car trouble and not make it, he could finally arrive on the 3rd atempt and not be able to fix it without parts, which finally come in and are damaged when he gets to your house(if hes not sick or having car trouble and does make it) the new reordered parts could be lost and have to be reordered, , , , , , , , , , , get it? you're rolling the dice just by getting out of bed. In fact there was a story about a boulder that rolled down a hill and smashed through the house killing the guy sleeping in his bed so even that statment isn't exactly true. But rolling the dice and playing is a lot better then the other choice. Of course by not playing there would be no chance of having something wrong with your furniture now would there. Cross your fingers and go buy some furniture, I need the work. But chances are way better that it will be fine and we will never meet.

I am sorry to hear about all the bad experiences. On the other hand I am pleased to learn that I am not the only person who was fooled by this company "American Signature Furniture". This goes for those who have not yet brought their furniture and want to know if the stories are legitimate, and those who like myself unfortunately already have, and only learned of their poor quality after the purchase. I actually brought my set a couch and loveseat through another company that sells their products. They are called Brandywine Furniture. The furniture is made poorly. I was in the showroom and viewed many sets, but was intereted in a microfiber and leather set. It turned out they did not have the set in the store so I had to put down half of the cost and have it ordered then delivered to the store, and was later told I had exactly 3days after it was delivered to pick it up, or lose both the furniture and my money. Not only was this information not posted on my receipt, but not told to me until after it was delievered. You would think that with this type of policy their brand would be good. When I picked up the furniture it was completely wrapped, and I did not get to see the actual furniture until after I was home.

THE QUALITY POOR(HOLLOW) MY 90 LB NIECE COULD LIFT THE LOVESEAT BY HERSELF. THE MATERIAL POOR(THE LEATHER IS PLASTIC) AND COVERED PIECES OF WOOD HERE AND THERE. THE PACKING POOR UPON OPENING I FOUND RIPS AND TEARS DO TO THE CHEAP MATERIAL, AND HOLLOW BACK AND SIDES. DO NOT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON LEGS THAT ARE MADE OF PLASTIC. IF YOU THINK THAT SOMEONE WITH SOME WEIGHT CAN SIT ON IT FORGET ABOUT THAT TOO BECAUSE THIS IS NOTHING UNDER THE CUSHIONS TO SUPPORT THAT IDEA.

I AM MAD, AND UPSET, AND WANT MY MONEY BACK. I HAVE CALLED THE STORE AND WROTE LETTERS SINCE MY PURCHASE 10/28/07. I DON'T EXPECT TO GET COMPENSATED BUT I HOPE THIS COMPANY COMES TO THE REALIZATION THAT THEY HAVE BAD BUSINESS, AND WILL NOT PROSPER. A BUSINESS GROWS WHEN CUSTOMER'S ARE HAPPY WITH QUALITY. DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND SHOP AROUND.

My husband and I bought a couch from the Brandon location back in July 2008. We are extremely dissatisfied with the wear of the fabric on the couch. I called the store where I purchased it back in November 2008 and a representative came out to the house and inspected the couch and my husband was told that all American Signature could offer us was to reupholster the couch. Since then we have not heard back from anyone.

We do not want the couch reupholstered with the same cheap crappy fabric that is already on the couch. At the time of my first call, the couch was only 5 months old and it looked like it was 2 years old. The fabric is all matted and discolored. We do not sit on the couch that much and we do not have animals that lay on the couch. We are extremely dissatisfied with the merchandise, which is very poor quality.

I see from this site that we are not the only ones. I only wish I would have seen this site before I went to the store and bought the awful couch. I want it out of my house.

I told the customer service person that we would be willing to take a store credit to purchase a more expensive leather sectional as a replacement. But after reading all these posts, I do not think it will matter how much we spend there; we will never get anything of good quality at that store. I will never buy another piece of furniture from that store ever. Junk is all they have.

I have shopped at other stores such as Rooms to Go, Pier 1, and IKEA and all stores offer better quality by far. I can't wait until IKEA opens in Tampa. I hope American Signature goes out of business.

I just got a sofa and chair from American Signature and I am very satisfied. The people at the store I visited in Plymouth Meeting, PA, were nothing but friendly, professional, polite, and helpful. The two men who delivered our furniture were also very professional, friendly, polite, and set up our furniture quickly.

My sofa and chair are very good quality and I am very satisfied with my purchase. I would recommend the store in Plymouth Meeting, PA, and I will definitely be going back there for future furniture.

hey everyone, i have read allll the complaints on ASF, including the positive ones too. all i can say is...some of the ASF stores are good (including deliver/customer servies) and then there are those locations that have bad services. We built a house in sarasota, florida and there is the ASF in bradon, FL and i've seen the complaints on that store and our furniture is coming from that location so keep ur fingers crossed and PRAY that we dont have any ### problems with that location. im already worried coz they are supposed to deliver the furniture on FRIDAY FEB 13, 3009. if they dont and if we get problems then it surely will be FRIDAY THE 13TH ha ha!.

another thing...the consumer isnt the one who has to tell ASF to inspect the furniture before it comes to your homes ok people? THEY are the ones who should have the common sense to inspect it BEFORE it comes to your house! if us consumers are the ones who have to tell them what to do and how to do it then THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH ASF right? THE CONSUMERS are not the ones who work at asf...so WE shouldnt be the ones who has to tell THEM TO INSPECT THE FURNITURE FIRST BECAUSE THEY SHOULD KNOW TO ALREADY DO THIS! with so MANNNYYYYYYY complaints agains ASF ----im VERY SHOCKED that noone had the decency or common sense to SUE THE PANTS OFF THIS COMPANY! with these many complaints posted on the net im just surprised u people didnt bother to sue this company! contact your attorneys and sue this company!

I have purchased furniture from Value city with warranty. I have never purchased another item from them again. The couch broke weeks after purchase. How do they stay in business selling poor quality furniture? Although the price is not bad...it is not cheap either. Maybe someone from their corporate office will see all of their complaints

Stay away from this place! The Allentown, PA store just like the rest of them i'm sure, have terrible customer service and poor management. I had purchased a dinette (four squares of slate and a glass top). The table looked great, but the quality was horrible. The chairs wouldn’t go together correctly the glass hangs over the table uneven and the chairs hurt to sit in after ten minutes. I returned the table once because a chunk of mdf was broken on the skirt. Now that I have the second top the corner is mashed in. I should have returned everything the first time I noticed anything was wrong. Shame on me! Please if anyone is planning on getting any furniture in the future please stay away or you will be writing one of these.

I agree completely with the complaints I've read thus far. I learned tonight that my sectional, which was purchased 2.5 weeks ago and was due to be delivered in 3 days, will not arrive until March 7th. That's an additional 2 weeks which means I will have waited for a month and a half if I continue to wait for this furniture. The store offered NOTHING! I think free delivery would've been thoughtful.

When I inquired about a refund, I was told that it would take up to a week even though I paid 1500 cash. I think something like this should be explained PRIOR to making the purchase. I think American Signature Furniture scams their customers by NOT disclosing this information. They might hide behind the fact that the receipt mentions this however, you don't get your receipt until AFTER you make the purchase and by then it's too late! I wish I had read these reviews before buying from them but I will just view this as a lesson learned. Next time I'll know to check consumer reviews and next time I will NOT use their service.

I work for this company and in PA none of this applies to our stores. We give great customer service and we stand by our products. They are the same as everyone else and WE MAKE HALF OF IT OURSELVES as well. We give the best warranties and prices around. Any company can have a complaint webpage. Not every company can prove them wrong, we can.

I bought a White Cottage kitchen table and chair set in December 2008 and when they delivered the table and chairs, it was dirty and broken. I called and American Signature sent another table, which was also broken so I called the company again and they sent yet another table...broken again! I called the company and told them to come and get the table and chairs because I wanted a refund. They picked up the table and I'm waiting for the refund to post to my American Express Card. American Signature wouldn't refund the $54.00 I paid for the cloth protection they put on the seat cushions, stating I had the set since December 2008 (2 months). Each tme this company came to pick up and drop off another table, I or someone else had to baby sit the house and wait for the delivery truck. I've sent an email about my experience with American Signature to everyone I work with and to my neighborhood association, to get the word out about this company. This company is a prime example of why America is having the financial problems it's having, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, BAD EMPLOYEE ATTITUDES AND A TERRIBLE PRODUCT LINE THEY NEED TO DISCONTINUE!

I purchased the Sterling Bedroom set in September of 2008. I received the delivery in about a week. The delivery guys called me at work to let me know they were 15 minutes away so I could leave work and meet them. They carried every piece up narrow stairs without scratching the house or the furniture. They set everything up, just the way I requested. I love the furniture and I would buy it again if I had to do it over. I'm actually adding pieces to my bedroom set because I love it so much. I looked in every furniture store and researched the designs and American Signature Furniture had the best set for the best price.

My only complaint is that I purchased the armoire and it was supposed to come with 2 shelves if I didn’t want to use it as a wardrobe. The two shelves were not there. I called the delivery guys and they came back to check the truck and look to make sure it wasn't in one of the drawers or on top of the armoire. I called my sales rep and she was very apologetic and said she would find out the situation and get them to me as soon as possible. I did get a run around for about a month with managers telling me that they had to special order the shelves and they would take 8 weeks to come in. The first time the shelves came in, they were two inches too short, go figure something specially made was made to the wrong dimensions. So 8 weeks later, the shelves came in. I drove to the store to pick them up and ask them to unwrap them so I could verify they were the right ones and when I saw the shelves, I was furious. They were stained slats of wood. I could have gone to Home Depot, bought wood and stain and done a better job. The edges weren't even sanded or stained to match the $1500 bedroom set I purchased. I went off on the warehouse guy and the manager. I demanded a discount and the shelves ASAP. They took $150 off for the problem and said they would order the shelves directly from the factory to match. They actually had to order a whole new armoire just to get the two shelves to match perfectly, but I only took the shelves since I was not going to return the whole armoire for two shelves. The shelves finally came in and they were perfect and a million times better than the first set they tried to stick me with!

As much as I hated waiting for two shelves, in the end, I was compensated for the problem and I got the shelves. I love my bedroom set and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Everyone has positive and/or negative experiences and usually only complain about the negative ones. I hope my story helped to shine a little needed light on the positive side of American Signature Furniture. I would highly recommend the Sterling Bedroom set!

I brought a sofa for my family room from ASF and it was the worst piece of furniture that I have ever purchased. The right side of the sofa where the arm rest is sinking in. I purchased the sofa in Oct. 2008 and a furniture tech came to my house to inspect the sofa just before the Xmas holiday. The tech said that the sofa would have to be service because it needed more support by the armrest to prevent further damage. Well I am still waiting. When you call the store in Bear, De, the tech is not in and you have to call again and again. (the last call was today, 4/4/09) I will try 1 more time and then my next step will be the DE BBB. I brought my livingroom furniture from Ethan Allen 6 yrs again and never have any problems with the furniture. The saying is so true, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

what most of these people talking about the import furniture should do there homework. about 90% of all furniture is built in china and that is all the high end companys as well as others. Alot of the factorys overseas is owned by american companys and the quility is contolled by these companys and if you are so big to say you would only buy made in america you should check out what is left in the good old USA. most furniture built here is fiberboard junk that most of you are complaining about. face it most of you will not pay the price for quility furniture made in the USA. Most of you nuts are driving inports and most of what you have on your back is imports so why are you ### about your furniture coming from china. Ive been in this business for over 30 years and have seen everything chance the years some good some not but thats life and if you cant except change maybe you need to build yourself a fallout shelter and lock yourself in it. furniture is like ever;ything else you get what you pay for in most cases. just so you know a 399 sofa or a 699 bedroom is not high end furniture and should be receaved with that in mind. houses, cars, food, clothes, entertainment, most everything is a lot more money than it was 10 or even 20 years ago but furniture is about the same price it was then it just has to be built overseas to keep it that way so you want have to sit in the floor. except life and learn to work with the people you buy from and be happy with life. when you buy a car for $20, 000 or more you dont mind taking it in for service buying new tires, paying for insurance ect. so why would anyone in there right mind expect furniture that you use more keep longer and never do anything to in most cases that only cost you a small amount in campairson be expected to last for ever and not ever have any problems and then the nuts that demand everything form the store they bought it from without any help on your part. after over 30 years in the furniture business i retired so i wouldnt have to deal with you and your lack of respect. build your own furniture and see what you end up with!

I purchased the Pacifica sofa and chair and was very disappointed with them. They feel like they are stuffed with cardboard (my cat won't get on them!) and they are not going to hold their shape. I will be lucky if they last until Christmas! When we bought them, nothing was said about treating them with chemicals (Scotch Guard at $5 a can?) and when I got home, tucked into the bill was a charge of almost two hundred bucks! It was never pointed out and we trusted the salesperson because my wife said she was "nice". To me, this is like paying for undercoating on a new car ( Fargo?); it is already on there from the factory! We complained to Value City nd they said yes "it's there" and that was it! Fool me once...

We have purchased furniture from American Signature several times and would go back again (Actually going to pickup our new dinette today). There prices are excellent. The quality is as good as or better than anyone else we've looked at. We have a dining room set from A-S and have gotten many compliments on the quality.

Wow, I was just going to refer a good friend to this furniture company, but after reading many of the complaints - I better not refer her to anyone. Seems like most companies today just want your $$, but when something goes wrong - they look the other way. I'm glad I found this site, since I was thinking of purchasing a bed unit from them - perhaps I will go home tonight and look at my bed from Ethan Allen, and my leather club chairs from Pottery Barn - all very expensive, but I have had the bed since 1998 and not a problem since purchased. My point here is look at the quality, look at the price if one is much lower than the other this should be a clue - you get what you pay for. I try to save, but do I want to change some of my furnishing annually, probably not.

Value City Furniture on the Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg, PA sells American Signature furniture. Two years ago we purchased an American Signature memory foam mattress through Value City Furniture, and as of today we are sleeping on the floor because the quality of the mattress has degraded so much over the past two years that we can no longer stand to sleep on it. We wake with back aches so bad that it is difficult to stand up. We contacted Value City Furniture about the warranty, and after a week, they finally sent out a technician to look a the mattress. Because we are uncomfortable having strangers in our bedroom, we brought the mattress downstairs and propped it on an ottoman so that he could take a look at it. Instead of making an attempt to see the defect in the mattress, he simply pushed on it, then told us there was nothing wrong with it. There are trenches where we sleep that he could not even have noticed the way the mattress was propped. He told us he'd have the manager call us in a few days, and we requested that someone call us today. I just got off of the phone with the store's assistant general manager, a totally infuriating man who claimed that sagging was covered under the warranty, and when I told him this was part of the problem, he insisted that it wasn't covered. He said that degradation of the material was not covered under the warranty - but isn't that what sagging is? We cannot afford to race out and purchase another $1500 mattress when we bought this one just two years ago. We cannot continue sleeping on the floor and are desperate for a solution. I have contacted American Signature directly to see if they can help, but they'll probably refuse, and we'll be sleeping on the floor until we can afford to get a new mattress. I'll NEVER purchase another American Signature product, and I'll NEVER buy anything else from Value City. Steer clear!

Their furniture is junk and they do not stand behind it. We bought our couch and recliner in Dec 06. We bought what we thought was an extended warranty on it, which turns out to only cover the fabric. The recliners in the couch are both sagging and all the store will do is recomend a repair service. I have a recomendation - buy you furniture somewhere else, I sure will in the future!

I purchased a Swivel Office Chair - Vineyard Manor Collection from American Signature on 1/30/09. This chair started loosing the bearings of the caster wheels from day one. By March I realized it was a serious problem getting worse so I requested a replacement/repair under warranty since it was obviously a manufacturer defect.
It took nearly 3 months just to send someone to look at the chair. They finally came on June 3, 2009 and concluded it was in fact a manufacturer defect.
It took them 2 more weeks just to order the parts. Today 8/2/09 they're telling me it's going to take 12 weeks for the parts to arrive. Then they have to schedule a visit to repair the chair.
I've been extremely patient with American Signature Furniture giving them time to fix this problem. Now the chair is starting to loose the wheels and it has become useless. With a few more months till they resolve this issue I'm now forced to buy a new chair. I need a chair in my studio for work.
This is certainly not the way to treat a customer that purchased seven thousand dollars of furniture. It also speaks of the poor quality of their products. The design of the caster wheels is the problem; so I'm afraid even when they finally replace them, it will only take a couple of months for the problem to come back. By then I'll be out of warranty. I like the chair because it matches the Vineyard Collection office I purchased from them, but at this point I simply prefer to return this poorly designed chair and buy another elsewhere.

I have bought from American Sig. 2 different times and been happy with everything. The plantation bedroom suite is sturdy (even with my young children jumping on it) and I love the dresser...has lined drawers for jewelry. We also purchased a leather couch/loveseat, coffee table with matching side table, a recliner and sofa table. I found the prices to be reasonable and love my furniture. The sales folks were very nice...simply had no troubles. Even when a few of my pieces had to be returned the first time (my husband measured the room wrong), the delivery guys were very nice even though they had to go up 2 flights of stairs. I did tip them well for their effort. Our last delivery was at our new house and my husband asked the guys to bring in a large piece from the garage...they did so.

I bought a 1200.00 bedroom set 16 months ago. The solid word frame had a defect in it. The side rail split and the right side of the bed collapsed knocking me to the floor. I called about the set, since the salesman told me it had a lifetime warranty..."furniture to last a lifetime"...or so their brochure says...hahaha. I was treated horribly. A young lady named Nicky at customer service was so incredibly rude to me. It took several phone calls, especially since they are famous for saying, we will call u right back and never call back, two store visits, a half day loss of wages to wait for a service tech who forgot to show up on time, to finally tell me the rail was broken(like I didnt know that) but he could glue it even though it wouldn't stay. The same customer service rep finally informed me that I had no warranty but as a courtesy, I could buy a new rail for 40.00 and it would be delivered. I asked to pick it up because I couldnt take more time off. She told me it was impossible that I would have to wait for delivery from them. Ridiculous...I have never been treated so poorly. They have no integrity...I cannot believe they have stayed in business this long.

Im a60 year old single man no animals just me using the duel reclining sofa i purchased in August. of this year. in Daytona beach fl. I noticed after just 30 days that my cushion on the side i sit on is crushed and the armrest worn out also the back lost its looks with flattening cushions. The store sent a repair man who said he can replace the cushions padding. Also it has a clunking sound when i recline( works electricly). The floor sample in the store made the same noise and i was told its just the floor sample. If they fix it ( and when been waiting for over a month). It will happen again. for sure. What about the other side It is also defective and will also wear out. I am 6.1 and weigh 195 lbs. Service and furniture sucks People in management are not concerned about my problem. This is the store on International Speedway . . I wanted to trade it in and spend more $ for a better sofa. but they refused me the offer.VERY POOR SERVICE AND QUALITY OF FURNITURE . DONT WASTE YOUR $ OR TIME.

I bought a living room set from value city two years ago. I have had nothing but trouble. The love seat is coming apart a the seams. The couch the springs are coming through along with iron along the creases. I have called twice with no response. I have spoken with a store manager who has given a number that no one has returned my calls. He also made it very difficult to get that number. The only story I get is that your furniture is out of warranty and you didn't purchase an exstended warranty. I am sorry. How ever i don't feel i need buy a warranty for structural. I did purchase for rips tears and stains.I think this is crazy and my furniture needs to be replaced or repaired.

Lets just say this is the worst place to buy furniture if you want it delivered properly. My wife and I purchased a bedroom set and some accent pieces about 3 months ago. They have screwed everything up from there. Delivery dates not schedule, wrong items delivered. Several months later we still cannot get our items to be delivered properly. This has gone so long that the last time we called the sales manager informed us that the item we bought months ago and still waiting to be delivered has be discontinued. Even after apologizing and we picking another item they still delivered in accurately. Bottom line I give up, I like their furniture but would never shop there again even if I have to pay a little bit more. American Signature is not worth the stress.
